Vaccine side effects occur in 10-15% of cases - Dr. Slaoui

Operation Warp Speed's coordinator Dr. Moncef Slaoui revealed on Tuesday that COVID-19 vaccine candidates developed by Pfizer and Moderna are safe, as only between 10% and 15% of volunteers reported "significantly noticeable" side effects.

Slaoui explained that the side effects could last up to 36 hours, and include redness and pain at the injection site, fever, chills, muscle aches and headache.

"The longer, more important kind of adverse events such as some autoimmune disease or others have not been reported in a different way between the placebo group and the vaccine group in these two trials, which is very reassuring," Slaoui told the Washington Post.
