Verstappen takes pole position for F1 Spanish GP
Dutch Formula One driver Max Verstappen of Red Bull Racing secured pole position on Saturday for the Grand Prix of Spain 2023 scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Catalonia's capital Barcelona.
"The car was really good. Qualifying was really tricky with the weather but once it started to dry out, and in Q3, the car was on rails. It was really enjoyable to drive today. I love coming to Barcelona, I love the track, I love the fans — they love racing. I have a lot of great memories here and hopefully tomorrow we can have another one," Verstappen said after winning the qualification round.
Ferrari's Carlos Sainz took the second position after the qualifications, followed by Lando Norris from McLaren, Alpine driver Pierre Gasly and Mercedes star Lewis Hamilton.
