Videgaray: USMCA not to interfere with Mexico-China ties

Mexico's Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray assured his Chinese counterpart Wang Yu, that the new trade agreement between Mexico, the United States and Canada (USMCA) will not affect economic relations with China, local media reported, citing foreign ministry statement.

In a phone call to Wang Yi, Videgaray said that Mexico is a sovereign nation free to decide with which countries it will have economic relations.

He added that none of the USMCA provisions constitutes an obstacle for bilateral relations or economic exchanges between Mexico and other countries.
