Vote on infrastructure bill possibly over weekend - Schumer

United States Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (pictured left) asserted on Monday that Congress might hold a vote on the bipartisan infrastructure legislation over the weekend if the bill is ready.

Speaking in the Senate, Schumer also hinted that the upper chamber may remain in session longer than expected, which would mean that the August recess would come at a later date.

He also took a jab at former US President Donald Trump, who criticized the bipartisan bill and the Republican negotiatiors led by Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. "Will our Republican colleagues follow the demands of the disgraced former president and his allies?," Schumer asked.
