Wall Street finishes mixed with all eyes on stimulus talks

Shares on major stock markets in the United States ended Friday's session mixed as investors focused on negotiations between the White House and Congressional Democrats on the country's next coronavirus aid package.

White House economic advisor Larry Kudlow noted the talks are not progressing "very rapidly" at the moment, while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claimed the agreement is possible if US President Donald Trump wants it. US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin warned the two sides still have "significant differences" to overcome before sealing the deal, urging Pelosi to show readiness to compromise on some issues.

The Dow Jones decreased by 0.10% at the closing bell as Intel Corp dropped over 10% on weak results in the third fiscal quarter. Concurrently, the S&P 500 grew 0.34% to end the session as SVB Financial Group went up by nearly 4% while the Nasdaq 100 added 0.25% with DexCom jumping nearly 4%. The euro climbed 0.37% at 3:58 pm ET, changing hands for $1.18619.
