Wall Street mixed premarket, after Friday's selloff

Major stock exchanges on Wall Street were mixed in the premarket on Monday, after the S&P 500 marked a new year low in the last trading session, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average slumped into a bear market, closing the third quarter with significant losses.

The market participants awaited the latest data on the country's construction spending and manufacturing activity, due to be released after the opening bell.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.29% at 4:24 am ET, while the S&P 500 was flat. The Nasdaq fell by 0.64% a minute later. The euro rose by 0.18% against the American currency, going to $0.98189 at 4:28 am ET.
