Wall Street opens in green as earnings season carries on

Stock indexes in the United States started trading with gains on Tuesday after the latest corporate earnings reports grabbed the investors' attention. UPS, Pfizer, Merck & Co., Caterpillar, 3M and PepsiCo all released their quarterly reports before the opening of the trading session. Meanwhile, data showed an increase in the US trading deficit in March and home prices in February. Wholesale inventories were lower in March.

The Dow Jones jumped 1.54%, or more than 350 points, at the open. Boeing led the gains, advancing 6.28% at 9:32 am ET.

The Nasdaq 100 added 0.9% as the trading day started with Ross Stores surging 7.05% at 9:33 am ET.

The S&P 500 was 1.48% up at the opening bell as home construction company D.R. Horton soared 12.82% at 9:33 am ET.

The euro was 0.37% higher to trade for $1.08692 at 9:29 am ET.
