Wall Street reverses losses, Dow rises over 230 pts

Major US stock markets reversed losses during Friday's session after being in the red territory for most of the day.

The day was marked by some concern after the US published manufacturing and construction spending data. In the case of manufacturing activity Timothy R. Fiore, Chair of the Institute for Supply Management, said that the sector "performed well for the 25th straight month," as "employment activity remains strongly positive in spite of the uncertainty with new order rates."

At 2:57 pm ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 233 points or 0.76%, while the Nasdaq 100 added 0.39%, and the S&P 500 rose 0.70%. The euro was down by 0.58% against the dollar at 2:56 pm ET, selling for $1.04232.
