Wall Street rises premarket amid trade optimism

Shares on Wall Street posted gains in premarket trading after trade optimism was reignited by the delay of China tariffs by two weeks. United States President Donald Trump said he wanted to show a sign of "good will" to Beijing by delaying tariffs past the celebrations of the 70th Anniversary of the People's Republic of China. The Commerce Ministry in Beijing welcomed the move and revealed that Chinese firms are considering resuming purchases of US farm goods. It also expressed hope the tariffs will not be imposed after the next round of high-level talks that are being discussed.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average index added 0.28% in premarket trade at 4:27 am ET.

The Nasdaq 100 advanced 0.41%, as the S&P 500 increased 0.24%.

The euro gained 0.17% against the dollar at 4:28 am ET, going for $1.10290.
