Wall Street tumbles ahead of session, Dow sinks 400 pts

Major stock markets on Wall Street plunged deep into the red territory ahead of Thursday's session following the Federal Reserve's decision to increase its key interest rate by the unexpected 75 basis points.

Meanwhile, investors awaited the latest jobs data set to be released just before the opening bell. In business news, Tesla upgraded the prices of its complete vehicle roster overnight by between $2,500 and $6,000.

The Dow Jones plunged by 1.38% or 424 points at 4:39 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 tumbled 2.31% or 268 points, and the S&P 500 lost 1.78%. The euro fell by 0.45% against the dollar to sell for 1.03943 at the same time.
