Wall Street turns positive with eyes on Fed
Markets on Wall Street rebounded amid a volatile session on Wednesday as investors listened to comments by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell following the bank's decision to hike interest rates by 25 basis points. Powell stressed the bank is still likely to continue hiking rates this year and that it needs more evidence to be convinced that inflation is on a "sustained downward path."
The Dow Jones added 0.04% at 2:49 pm ET, after losing 450 points just minutes earlier. The Nasdaq 100 rallied 1.02% at 2:44 pm ET and the S&P 500 rose 0.51% at the same time.
