Warren: Trump created border crisis

Massachusetts Senator and Democratic presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren accused United States President Donald Trump of having created the crisis at the country's southern border and hoping to "profit from it politically."

During a Democratic presidential debate in Texas, Warren claimed that the crisis is a result of Washington's decision to withdraw help for "suffering" people in Central America, claiming that forced more people to flee to the US.

The senator also stressed that the US should work on expanding legal immigration and on creating a "pathway to citizenship" for people who came to the US legally, as well as for those who overstayed their visas or entered illegally. "In this country, immigration does not make us weaker. Immigration makes us stronger," she claimed.
