West says Turkey to blame for oil tanker holdup - report

Western officials claimed Turkey is responsible for blocking oil tankers in the Turkish Straits, the Financial Times reported on Thursday. The holdup started after the West introduced the $60 oil price cap on Russian crude and required proof from insurers that Russian vessels carrying oil are complying with the cap.

The unnamed officials stated that most of the tankers blocked in the Black Sea come from Kazakhstan and are not subject to the price cap. "These disruptions are the result of Turkey’s rule, not the price cap policy," an official said.
