WH communications director stepping down - report

White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield is stepping down from her post ahead of midterm elections planned for November, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday citing an official familiar with her decision.

White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain told the paper that Bedingfield is expected to leave her position in late July and will "help support the president and the administration from the outside," stressing however that she will "remain a critical player in moving the Biden agenda forward from the outside."

Klain also praised Kate's work by saying it was her who contributed significantly to the fact that former US President Donald Trump is no longer in the White House as she played a key role in President Joe Biden's 2020 election campaign.
