WH's Meadows: Pelosi obstacle to stimulus deal

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows (pictured) stated that United States House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi presents the biggest obstacle to a deal concerning the economic relief legislation.

Pelosi is "refusing to take yes for an answer," Meadows told CNBC. The sides are "still several hundred billion dollars apart" and the Republican proposal stands at $1.88 trillion, he also revealed.

Meadows acknowledged the possibility of the deal not having unanimous support among GOP senators and noted that the Democrats' votes may be needed for the bill to pass. He was also optimistic about the chances of the appointment of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the country's Supreme Court and the completion of congressional approval of the stimulus legislation before Election Day, November 3.
