Wirecard's missing $2.1B haven't entered Philippines - central bank

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas revealed on Sunday that Wirecard's missing $2.1 billion hadn't entered the country's local financial system.

Commenting on the scandal which is troubling the German company, Philippine central bank Governor Benjamin Diokno insisted that Philippine BDO Unibank and Bank of the Philippine Islands haven't suffered any losses despite being connected to the lacking money.

As the situation is becoming more complex, Wirecard's Chief Executive Markus Braun resigned from the company's management board. At the time stock markets closed in Germany last Friday, Wirecard's shares closed 35.29% lower.
