Yellen: Not enough change in Iran despite sanctions
United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen noted on Thursday that Washington's "extremely tough, the toughest possible" sanctions against Tehran have "created a real economic crisis" in Iran.
Iran is "greatly suffering economically" due to sanctions and "the same is true for North Korea," she told US lawmakers. The measures against such governments have not resulted in changes that the US "would ideally like," Yellen acknowledged.
Iran has repeatedly accused the US and other western powers of carrying out acts of "economic terrorism" that have had no success.
