Zelensky calls Russia's operation 'mistake'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his latest video address claimed people are becoming increasingly aware that Russia made a mistake by launching its military operation in Ukraine. "More and more losses are being inflicted on the enemy army, and there is a growing understanding that Russia made a mistake by starting a war against Ukraine," Zelensky said.

"There are new liberated settlements in several regions," he noted, adding that a rising number of Russian soldiers is trying to flee the battlefield.

On October 1, a day after Russia's annexation of four territories in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian forces recaptured the strategic Lyman railway junction in the Donetsk region and on October 3 they liberated small settlements of Arkhanhelske and Myrolyubivka in Kherson.
