Zelensky calls Russian rulers 'savages'
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of ecocide following the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, saying that they abandoned people living on the left bank of the Kherson region to their fate.
"There is no one left in the world today who does not see that Russia is ruled by savages. Savages who themselves are the biggest disaster on the planet today," Zelensky wrote on his Telegram channel.
His reaction comes as Kiev and Moscow blame each other for the explosion that claimed civilian lives in territories controlled by both sides and brought peril to wildlife, while also endangering the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant's cooling system.
