Zuckerberg testifies before EU Parliament

Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg apologized to European lawmakers on Tuesday as he began his testimony before the European Parliament in Brussels in relation to the Cambridge Analytica data scandal.

"We didn't take a broad enough view of our responsibility and that was a mistake and I am sorry for it," the head of the social media and networking giant explained before he outlined his company's step to prevent possible further instances of data misuse on Facebook.

Zuckerberg stated he is confident Facebook will successfully tackle election meddling via the social network in the future, as well as the protection of users' privacy, as the company decided to double its safety and security staff by the end of the year, limit the access apps get to users' personal information and investigate "every single app" that had access to large amounts of data.
