German retail sales fall 1.0% in October
German’s retail turnover in October decreased by 1.0% year on year in real terms and 0.4% in nominal terms, Destatis, the country’s statistical office, announced on Wednesday.
The seasonally adjusted October turnover in real terms amounted to 1.8% and 2.0% in nominal terms compared to the previous month.
There were 25 days open for sale last month in comparison to 26 in the same period last year.
Seasonal and calendar variations for October 2016 show greater adjusted figures of 2.4% in real terms and 2.6% in nominal terms compared to September 2016.
