Wall Street opens flat ahead of Trump conference
Markets in the United States opened flat on Wednesday as investors continued to anticipate US President-elect Donald Trump’s conference due later in the day. Market watchers were reluctant to invest as they awaited real estate mogul’s comments on the future economic and political outlook at home. Dollar continued its gradual but steady ascend against the euro and the pound ahead of the conference.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index added 0.11% at the open, gaining around 20 points.
The S&P 500 shed 0.03% during first minutes of trading. Telecommunications and utilities led the gains.
The Nasdaq 100 opened 0.08% in the green, remaining relatively flat.
