Europe opens higher ahead of Brexit talks

Markets in Europe opened higher as investors continue to anticipate the continuation of the talks between the United Kingdom and the European Union for Britain's exit from the bloc. The second round of negotiations is due to start later in the day in Brussels. Meanwhile, EasyJet CEO Carolyn McCall was announced as a new chief of British broadcaster ITV. McCall will assume the new role at the start of 2018 after being with the airline company for seven years.

In Germany, the DAX started a day of trading 0.15% higher, mostly led by the gains in the technology sector. 

France's CAC 40 also edged up 0.15% at the open.

In London, the FTSE 100 gained 0.46% at the start. 

The euro shed 0.13% against the US dollar to trade for 1.1450 at 9:16 am CET while the British pound edged down 0.04% against the greenback at 1.3092 at 9:17 am CET.
