Park to accept whatever decision parliament makes
The Cheong Wa Dae presidential office said on Wednesday that South Korean president Park Geun-hye will accept whatever decision the parliament would make regarding her future, Yonhap reported.
“Whatever decision the National Assembly will make, she will follow it as long as it is based on an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties," Jung Youn-kuk, a presidential spokesman, told reporters during a press conference. He added that a constitutional amendment is one of the ways Park can uphold the timeline that the parliament will set.
Park pledged on Tuesday to step down if the parliament votes for her resignation. The spokesman hinted that Park will hold a press conference to detail her position on a series of allegations involving her and her friend Choi Soon-sil.
