Trump to name Wilbur Ross as commerce secretary
U.S. president-elect Donald Trump will name Wilbur Ross Jr. as commerce secretary on Wednesday, according to media reports.
Ross is an economic adviser to the real-estate magnate, and has helped shape his campaign views on trade policy. The businessman has previously expressed strong views against the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Ross made his billions by investing in distressed industries and currently heads the private equity firm W.L. Ross&Co. Previously, he consolidated several bankrupt steel makers into the International Steel Group, which was sold to Mittal Steel two years later for $4.5 billion.
