EDP Group is one of the major European operators of the energy sector, being one of largest energy operators in the Iberian Peninsula, and the largest Portuguese industrial group. EDP is the only energy sector company in the Iberian Peninsula with generation, distribution and supply activities in both Portugal and Spain - where it controls the fourth largest Spanish electricity operator, HC Energía. In addition, EDP has a relevant position in the gas sector in the Iberian Peninsula, through Naturgas in Spain, the second market operator, and Portgás in Portugal, the second distribution company.Internationally, EDP Group is today the third largest wind operator worldwide through EDP Renováveis, an EDP Group company with a strong presence in the USA, through Horizon Wind Energy, as well as in several other geographies through Europe (France, Belgium, Poland, Romania and Brazil). EDP Group is also present in Brazil, through EDP – Energias do Brasil, where it performs in the business activities of electricity generation, distribution and supply.
