Romney: Trump's Stone decision historic corruption

United States Senator from Utah Mitt Romney condemned on Saturday President Donald Trump's decision to commute Roger Stone's sentence an act of "historic corruption."

"Unprecedented, historic corruption: an American president commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very president," Romney, who was the Republican candidate in the 2012 presidential elections, wrote on Twitter.

Trump's former advisor Roger Stone was sentenced to 40 months in prison in February after he was found guilty of obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and making false statements to Congress until the president commuted the punishment in July.
