Asia-Pacific trades mostly higher after RBA keeps rates

Equities on major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly higher on Tuesday after the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) decided to hold its interest rates. Elsewhere, South Korea reported under 5,000 new coronavirus cases for two days in a row, while China's November trade surplus came in below expectations.

The Nikkei 225 rose by 1.89% at the close. The Shanghai Composite decreased by 0.16% at 6:58 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite Index declined 0.61% at 7:13 am CET. The Hang Seng grew 1.95% a minute later. The Kospi was up 0.54% at 7:14 am CET. The S&P/ASX 200 in Australia closed with a 0.95% gain.

The dollar was 0.21% higher compared to the Japanese yen at 7:15 am CET, trading for 113.7170.
