AWS's new program seeks to link investors to start-ups

Amazon Inc.'s Amazon Web Services (AWS) is piloting new Pro-Rata Program designed to connect private investors and venture funds with companies that use tech giant's AWS, CNBC reported on Friday.

According to an email sent out to investors in January, the program is described as a new pilot "intended to connect family offices and venture capitalists for specific investment opportunities from the AWS ecosystem."

With a market share of approximately 32% in the fourth quarter of 2018, AWS roster includes companies such as NASA, Netflix, Slack and Samsung. Back in November, the tech titan's cloud computing service announced it is launching blockchain services called Quantum Ledger Database (QLDB) and Amazon Managed Blockchain.
