Biden may unveil health team next week - report

United States President-elect Joe Biden could formally reveal his choices to assume leading posts in the US health system next week, including the roles of secretary of health and human services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director, and the coronavirus coordinator, NBC News reported on Wednesday, citing an unnamed transition official.

Former Director of the US National Economic Council Jeff Zients is the most likely candidate to be named the coronavirus coordinator, while former Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo are contending for the post of the secretary of health and human services, according to the report.

Meanwhile, the Small Business Administration (SBA) is expected to be led by current Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, anonymous sources told the media outlet.
