Blinken: US's Ukraine embassy moved to Lviv

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed in a written statement issued on Monday that his country's embassy in Ukraine has moved from Kiev to Lviv.

"The embassy will remain engaged with the Ukrainian government, coordinating diplomatic engagement in Ukraine. We are also continuing our intensive diplomatic efforts to deescalate the crisis," the statement read. "The path for diplomacy remains available if Russia chooses to engage in good faith. We look forward to returning our staff to the embassy as soon as conditions permit." Blinken also urged all the US citizens that are currently in Ukraine to leave that country.

Blinken's remarks come following the report the US embassy began evacuation from Kiev to move to a location in western Ukraine. Meanwhile, the latter nation's President Volodymyr Zelensky stated he has been "told" Russia will start its invasion on February 16.
