Boeing to roll out 737 MAX software update in 10 days - report

Boeing announced it will roll out an update for its 737 MAX jets in 10 days, AFP reported on Friday, citing a source familiar with the matter.

The company initially planned to roll out the update shortly following the October's crash of Lion Air's plane of the same type. However, the update was delayed by five weeks due to the partial government shutdown. Boeing now promises to launch the update by April, saying that pilots will not be required to take additional training to learn the functioning of the latest update.

Boeing announced earlier that it will suspend the deliveries of its 737 MAX planes in response to the crash of the Ethiopian Airlines aircraft which killed 157 people last weekend.
