Brexit deal in UK's economic interest - Javid

Agreeing the Withdrawal Agreement is "self-evidently" in the United Kingdom's economic interest, Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid (pictured) said on Monday,

In a letter sent to the Treasury Committee, Javid asserted approving the Brexit deal would end the "damaging uncertainty" and allow businesses to "get on with taking decisions" regarding investments and recruitment. In addition, it would allow London to start the process of agreeing a "mutually beneficial new trading relationship" with the European Union.

In response to the letter, Catherine McKinnell, acting chief of the committee, said the previous economic analysis did not correspond to the agreement Downing Street is attempting to pass, stating it was "deeply concerning" that the government did not provide a relevant economic evaluation that would allow the MPs to decide how to vote.
