Brexit deal vote to go ahead as planned - PM May

The meaningful vote on the Brexit withdrawal agreement will go ahead as previously planned next Tuesday, spokesman for the United Kingdom's Prime Minister Theresa May told reporters on Friday, amid rumors that the vote might be called off due to growing opposition to May's Brexit deal in the parliament. An earlier report also claimed that May is considering delaying the crucial vote in order to buy more time and even possibly negotiate a better deal with Brussels.

The spokesman, James Slack added that May still believes that her deal is "absolutely right" for Britain, but admitted that the government will consider amendments to the contentious Irish backstop clause. Slack went on to say that May has no intention to extend Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty and postpone the day the UK officially leaves the EU.
