CDC eases indoor mask mandate for vaccinated

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will relax indoor mask requirements for people vaccinated against the COVID-19, the Associated Press reported on Thursday citing sources familiar with the matter.

The easing of mask mandate will likely refer to workplaces and schools, while restrictions are expected to remain for crowded indoor places such as transport services, hospitals and prisons. The report comes two weeks after the CDC recommended vaccinated people don't have to wear masks outside unless in very crowded areas.

The White House COVID-19 response team is set to hold a press briefing later today, during which CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky is expected to officially confirm the decision.
