China calls US 'biggest initiator' of Ukraine war
The Chinese Foreign Ministry slammed the United States on Monday as the "biggest initiator" of the war in Ukraine and told Washington that, if it really cares about the Ukrainian people and wants peace, it should stop supplying Kiev with weapons.
"If they really care about the security of the Ukrainian people, they should stop sending weapons there and profit from the war," the ministry's spokesperson Mao Ning claimed and criticized the US for making "baseless accusations" against Beijing.
Last week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed that Washington and Beijing managed to reduce the tension in their bilateral relations. However, just days later US General Mike Minihan warned that the US is likely to be at war with China by 2025. The tensions between the two countries have been rising over several issues, including visits of several high-ranking American officials to Taiwan, and Washington's criticism of China over alleged human rights abuses and espionage.
