China: Patrol with Russia not targeting any country
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Thursday that China's joint aerial patrol with Russia is "conducted in accordance with international law and practice and is not targeted at any specific country." The West Pacific patrol initially took place on Tuesday but was extended for another day for the first time since it was introduced in 2019.
The extended patrol follows large-scale live-fire military exercises by the United States and South Korea. In addition, NATO is set to carry out its largest air drills in Germany in mid-June as a show of force amid the war in Ukraine.
