Congress plans even larger Russia probe – report

Democratic members of the United States House of Representatives are planning a large probe into alleged connections between President Donald Trump and Russia, which will be focused on assertions of money laundering, Axios reported on Wednesday. The plan, which could last until 2020, was disclosed by a Democratic member of Congress during a roundtable with Washington correspondents.

The probe is expected to include at least three congressional Committees, multiple public hearings and will issue subpoenas which will be made possible by the recently acquired powers of the Democratic Caucus. An undisclosed Congress member stated that the investigation will be aimed at the Trump Tower in Moscow, which he has called "the most lucrative deal of [Trump's] life."

The United States Senate Intelligence Committee yesterday said it found no evidence of Trump's collusion with Russia in the 2016 presidential election, as the special counsel Robert Mueller stated that he found evidence related to Moscow's meddling in the online disinformation effort made against his probe.
