COVID fears pull Dow 350 pts down premarket

Major stock markets in the United States suffered significant losses in the premarket trade on Monday, pointing toward opening deep in the red territory as investors focused on the upcoming presidential elections.

While the country registered over 83,000 new COVID-19 cases yesterday, President Donald Trump insisted the government will not introduce new lockdown measures saying that it would make a bigger negative impact than the pandemic itself.

The Dow Jones plunged 1.23% or 348 points at 4:30 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 concurrently tumbled 0.98% or 114 points. A minute later, the S&P 500 dropped 1.18%. Meanwhile, the euro lost 0.32% against the dollar to sell for $1.18222.
