Dems to scrap climate policy from reconciliation package - report

The Democratic party is likely to leave the Clean Electricity Performance Program (CEPP) out of its $3.5 trillion social policy bill, CNN reported citing three congressional sources.

The decision was prompted after the draft was criticized by the United States Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia, the report explained.

"He is not there on the CEPP period. We've been trying," the outlet cited one of its sources. "If there's a deal to be struck in the next few days, I don't think there's anything resembling CEPP in there," the source concluded.
