Dow continues to climb, up over 800 pts

The Dow Jones continued to rise on Thursday for the third consecutive session after previously erasing all of its gains since Donald Trump became president.

Weekly jobless claims soared to over 3 million but the massive coronavirus stimulus bill and comments from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell helped boost stocks. Powell said earlier that the central bank "will not run out of ammunition" to support the economy amid the coronavirus crisis.

The Dow was up 808 points at 11:18 am ET. Boeing, American Express and Coca Cola were among the top performers.
