Dow plunges 500 pts as selloff continues

Stock markets in the United States continued to plummet on Friday, with the Dow Jones losing 500 pts, as investors fretted over the uncertain outcome of the trade war between the US and China. Shortly following the start of the session, US President Donald Trump published a series of tweets, railing at Beijing and vowing to stop its unfair practices, sparked by China's decision to impose a set of retaliatory tariffs on $75 billion worth of US goods..

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 521 points, or 1.97% at 1:09 ap ET. The Nasdaq 100 lost 2.59%, as Hasbro continued to slide, losing 7.63% at the same time. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 dropped 2.04% at 1:1 pm ET.

The euro rose 0.55% against the greenback, changing hands for 1.11422 at 1:12 pm ET.
