Dow surges over 1,000 pts on buoyed stimulus hopes

Stock markets continued to ride the momentum of the forthcoming $2 trillion relief bill aimed at mitigating adverse effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the US economy, with the Dow rising over 1,000 points, trying to make up for losses incurred over the past weeks.

Dow industrials soared 1,107 points or 5.22%. Boeing led the gains on the blue-chip index, surging over 15%.

The Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 followed suit, adding 3.93% and 4.84%, respectively, as stocks across industries gained.

The euro rose 1.09% on the US dollar, going for 1.10016 at 11:41 am ET.
