EU consumer confidence down by 1.6 points in October
Consumer confidence in the European Union decreased by 1.6 points in October compared to September and stood at −16.5 points, according to the European Commission's report on Thursday. In the euro area, consumer confidence also dropped by 1.6 points and was reported at −15.5 points for October.
The Commission stated that both the flash estimates were "well below their long-term averages" of −11.2 in the euro area and −10.6 in the EU.
