Europe slightly higher premarket ahead of Fed decision

European stocks rose slightly in premarket trading on Wednesday as investors awaited the interest rate decision from the United States Federal Reserve scheduled for later in the day. Markets were boosted by a fresh wave of trade optimism after US President Donald Trump announced he will meet his Chinese counterpart at the upcoming G20 summit and noted their countries are set to resume trade talks today.

Elsewhere, the Tory leadership contest is continuing with another ballot after Dominic Raab was eliminated from the race yesterday. Boris Johnson remains the favorite to succeed Theresa May as the United Kingdom prime minister.

The FTSE 100 increased by 0.20% premarket, the DAX was up 0.02% and the CAC 40 added 0.11%. The euro traded flat against the dollar to sell for 1.1193 at 8:54 am CET
