Eurozone consumer confidence improves in January

Consumer confidence in the euro area improved in January compared to the previous month, according to the data from the European Commission made available on Monday.

According to the report, the recovery is reflected in an increase of 1.4 percentage points in the EU and 1.1 percentage points in the eurozone.

However, despite the modest improvement, with negative 22.4 percentage points (EU) and negative 20.9 percentage points (EA), consumer confidence persists, well below its long-term average.
