Eurozone consumer confidence worsens in Oct

The Consumer Confidence in the euro area (EA19) landed at negative 15.5 points in October, declining 1.6 points from the figure recorded in September, the European Commission revealed in its report released on Thursday. For the entire European Union (EU27), the number also dropped by 1.6 points to negative 16.5.

The Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) remained unchanged on a monthly basis in both the Eurozone and the EU27, coming in at 90.9 and 90.0 points, respectively.

For the EA19, the industry confidence improved 1.8 points to negative 9.6, while services confidence fell by 0.6 points to 12.1.
