Pfizer vaccine shipments to be delivered on Dec. 15

The first batch of shipments of Pfizer Inc.'s coronavirus vaccine is set to be delivered to locations across the United States on December 15, according to a document of the administration's Operation Warp Speed program, seen by CNN.

The company, along with its German partner BioNTech, is awaiting Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) approval for its vaccine after becoming the first to file for emergency use authorization with the organization on November 20.

The country previously said vaccinations are expected to start mid-December, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention panel making the recommendation for health-care workers and long-term care facility residents to be the first to get vaccinated.
