Former Fed vice-chair Fischer to join BlackRock

Former vice-chairman of the United States Federal Reserve Stanley Fischer is joining BlackRock Inc. investment institute as a senior adviser, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday.

Fischer worked at the Fed from 2014 until tendering his resignation in September 2017, citing personal reasons. Before his appointment to the central bank, he was the Governor of the Bank of Israel, vice-chairman of Citigroup and first deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund.

BlackRock hopes Fischer will be able to "help discern trends, identify the inflection points and understand the interlocking intricacy of assets markets and economies."
