Google fined €500M over news copyrights in France

The French Antitrust Agency said on Tuesday that tech giant Google LLC must pay €500 million due to the company failing to reach a deal with publishers on using their content on the platform.

"The sanction of €500 million takes into account the exceptional seriousness of the breaches observed and what Google's behavior has led to further delay the proper application of the law," the agency's President Isabelle de Silva noted.

Google hasn't come up with any comments on the penalty yet.
